Train in train

Around 40 Lake City emergency responders did training exercises in an Amtrak car Saturday.

After a four-hour classroom session, participants went to Ardent Mills in Lake City where an Amtrak car had been delivered the night before.

John Yorde, the city’s emergency management director, said firefighters practiced extricating volunteers playing wounded passengers from the train. Nearby ambulance personnel set up a mass casualty triage center to accept the victims.
