VFW scholarship competition is under way

Post Commander Loren McDonald and Auxiliary President Karen England of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and Auxiliary to Bernard Flesche Post 8729 in Lake City have announced the kick-off of this year’s VFW annual Voice of Democracy Scholarship competition. Local high school students in this area, grades 9-12, have the opportunity to compete for thousands of dollars in scholarships and a trip to Washington, D.C.
