Walkers explore Frontenac State Park
The Walking Lake Pepin group walked at Frontenac State Park last Wednesday and hosted 16 walkers who hiked to three spots overlooking Lake Pepin. Sunshine and a nice breeze made it a great evening to take a walk and take in the bluff top vistas.
Frontenac State Park, just a couple miles off Highway 61 on Goodhue County 2 in Frontenac, covers 2,900 acres with natural landscapes including bluffs, prairie, floodplain forest and hardwood forest. There are estimated to be 260 species of birds that make the park their home for part or all of the year. Eagles can be seen year round.
