15 get $150 ticket in latest snow emergency; alerts available

Lake City Police issued 15 citations to people parked on the street during the last snow emergency event in Lake City, which began Sunday, Jan. 14, at 10 p.m.

The fine for parking on a city street that hasn’t been plowed to the curb is $150.

People who want to know when snow emergencies are in effect in Lake City can sign up for free notifications from the city through CodeRED.

The city has been using the system since 2013 to alert residents about snow emergencies, planned power outages, street closures and other information.
