Active shooter training coming to Lake City Public Schools on July 25, Aug. 2, and Aug. 16

Lake City Police Department (LCPD) and other emergency personnel will be conducting active shooter training on Lake City Public Schools campuses on July 25, Aug. 2, and Aug. 16, according to the police department.

Lake City Police Officer Anthony Cox, the district’s school resource officer, said that while most of the training will occur inside the school buildings, emergency vehicles will be present.

“We just ask that the public stay away from the area while this training is ongoing,” he said.
