Cemstone site getting a closer look

On Nov. 3, members of the Lake City Port Authority Board and its two directors toured the City of Lake City property known as the “Cemstone property” for the large defunct mining pit that occupies a portion of it.

The city purchased the roughly 100-acre property at auction in 2006. It lies between North 10th Street, Highway 63, and The Jewel development.

Over the years some development has occured adjacent to North 10th Street, where there was ready access to nearby infrastructure.
