City Council member Mary Lou Waltman resigns
Lake City City Councilmember Mary Lou Waltman submitted a letter of resignation to Mayor Mark Nichols and City Administrator Rob Keehn on Friday, Jan. 11.
Waltman, who had two years left in her current term, wrote that she was stepping down because of her health.
The resignation doesn’t become official until it is accepted in a vote by the council. Action on the resignation is planned for a 5 p.m. special meeting on Jan. 23.
Councilmembers discussed the process for filling vacancies at the council’s Jan. 14 regular meeting.
