City Council wants downtown project details

Mayo decision tabled

The City Council wants more details for a proposed “road diet” through downtown Lake City.

At a special meeting Monday night the council instructed city staff and its engineer, Bill Anderson of SEH, Inc., to work out specific plans for the project through the downtown area.

The northern most portion of the  proposed project, from Hok-Si-La Park into downtown, will be dealt with separately.

Focusing on the downtown portion of the project will give the council more realistic cost estimates for that portion of the project.
