City hires new firm to administer building code

The City of Lake City is getting a new building code administration service.

On Feb. 12, the Lake City City Council approved a motion hiring MNSPECT to administer the Minnesota Building Code, pending city attorney review, from April 1 through the end of the year.

The city has been evaluating options for building code administration since identifying the need for improvements in the city’s current contract, according to the agenda packet.
