City hires WAK to manage beach pavilion construction

The Lake City City Council has voted to hire WAK Construction to be its construction manager on the Ohuta Beach pavilion project.

WAK was the lone bidder to be the general contractor on the project last summer, but the council rejected that bid, which was hundreds of thousands of dollars more than the anticipated cost of the project.

Since then the city has shifted strategies in the hope of completing the structure at a reduced cost.
