Commercial fishing linked to paddlefish, lake sturgeon deaths

Central Point residents were treated to a grisly sight late last week when several large fish with sliced undersides turned up on shore.

Mary Stori, who lives on the point, said the fish first started to appear Wednesday evening.

“Thursday we found all the sturgeon and paddlefish that were blowing up on shore,” she said. “The wind was just right to blow them up onto Central Point.”
