Council approves request from apartment developer

The Lake City City Council voted 5-2 to approve a Planned Unit Development (PUD) amendment requested by a developer who wants to build an apartment building and townhomes in Lake City.

Keller-Baartman asked the city to increase the allowed maximum density on the land it owns surrounding Hickory Way off Hidden Meadow Lane to 73.

The company plans to construct a 57-unit apartment building and five two-unit townhomes on the roughly four-acre site. Those 67 units and an existing six-unit building at the site would bring the total to 73.
