Council candidate field is cut in half

One more vote would have made a difference for John Mead in Tuesday’s primary election.

Mead, a candidate for City Council missed winning by just one vote.

The top six candidates in the field of 12 will go on to the Nov. 8 general election. The remaining six are eliminated from consideration.

Mead finished seventh in Tuesday night’s tally with 237 votes.

Candidate Tom Dwelle survived the primary as the sixth leading vote-getter with 238.
