Council looks at water, tobacco, land use

At about 50 minutes, the open portion of the Lake City City Council’s regular meeting on May 12 was brief, but in that time council discussions and actions touched on a broad range of issues.

Tobacco Licenses

The council conducted a first reading on an ordinance updating the city’s tobacco regulations. The new ordinance provides for a single license for a business whose sales of tobacco and related products meet a certain threshhold.

There was some confusion over whether that threshhold would be 40% or 90% of sales.
