County accepts Radiological Ingestion Pathway grant

Wabasha County Commissioners on July 15 approved a 2026-2027 grant agreement with the State of Minnesota, through the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, to continue Radiological Ingestion Pathway planning, workshop training and purchase of equipment.

Wabasha County is within 50 miles of the Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant, near Red Wing, and thus is considered an Ingestion Pathway county (one located within emergency planning zones around nuclear facilities).
