More than 60 years after he was captured and later presumed dead in what is now North Korea, the family of Red Wing native and U.S. Army Sergeant Glen Richardson has finally collected all of the medals he earned in the Army.
Richardson was captured on Dec. 1, 1950, as his second infantry division tried to fight its way south to safety after being encircled by communist Chinese forces. The captors marched Richardson and his fellow prisoners of war from place to place until they reached Camp 5 in Pyoktong on the south bank of the Yalu River.
