Downtown condo project to seek tax increment financing

The Lake City City Council has called for a public hearing on a proposal to create a tax increment financing district (TIF) to help fund the construction of a 26-unit condominium building to be called “Aurora” at 303 S. Lakeshore Drive.

The council approved the resolution at its April 14 regular meeting.

The public hearing on developer Paul Meier’s TIF application will be Monday, June 9, at 6 p.m., after which the council will consider approving the proposal.
