Goodhue County board spars over but eventually approves park land donation

Goodhue County commissioners voted a second time on Oct. 20 to approve a land donation to create a county park west of Kenyon.

At the Oct. 6 meeting, the acquisition had been approved, but Public Works Director Greg Isakson found that the decision to accept the land required a two-thirds majority. He urged the commissioners to revote to accept the donation because their previous vote didn’t meet the criteria for the county’s donation policy that was adopted in 2010.
