Goodhue County expedites sheriff hiring
Chief Deputy Kris Johnson told the County Board on March 15 that the Sheriff’s Department had gone before the Personnel Committee several times in 2015 to discuss the way the department fills its open positions.
With an improving job market at that time, people were moving on to different employment, and the county had numerous openings. To expedite the process, it was agreed that the Sheriff’s Department could hire up to five employees without going before the Planning Commission and the county commissioners for approval of who they hired.
