Greatest of all time (G.O.A.T.) vegetation control

Frontenac State Park currently has a herd of goats at work in the western parts of the park doing woody invasive control. Park Manager Jake Gaster stated in an email, “(the goats) came to the park in late June and will be leaving us for the year in a week or so. The overall goal of the project was to reduce the density of woody shrubs in bluff prairie and oak woodland communities, which will make our prescribed fire activities in these areas more effective. The primary vegetation targeted for removal includes buckthorn, prickly ash, honeysuckle, dogwood, sumac, raspberries, and ninebark.
