In-house loan to help library renovation fund

Traffic has picked up since the Lake City Public Library opened   the doors to its newly expanded downtown building in February.

And dozens of gift baskets in the library’s front window and throughout the facility speak of the fund-raising effort still going on to help cover the cost of the project.

But fund-raising is beginning to peter out and it is reaching the point where the funds collected is not outweighing the effort put into it, Library Administrator Patti Bross said.

So the Library Board is asking the city to step in.
