Hwy. 42 detour goes into effect

A detour began for motorists on Highway 42 between Plainview and Eyota on Monday, July 13 when repaving and culvert replacement work started, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT).

Construction crews will also be replacing culverts along the road, which requires closure of Highway 42 for safety reasons. Rochester Sand and Gravel is the prime contractor on the project.
