Lake City City Council approves final levy at Dec. 9 meeting

Lake City Mayor Mark Nichols presided over his final regular city council meeting Dec. 9 as his second term comes to an end.

Nichols didn’t file to run for a third term in the Nov. 5 general election. Voters chose Councilmember Brian Quinn to succeed him. Quinn takes office in January.

Nichols said the council was in good hands, but he did suggest a few items for a future council to address.

He wanted the council to consider whether it wanted final say on some issues that are currently decided by city boards and commissions.
