Lake City's new emergency operations center comes online

Lake City’s emergency operations center is out of the basement and in its new home at the city’s new public safety building on 10th Street.

On Wednesday, Aug. 10, the first training was held in the new quarters for the volunteers who will staff the emergency operations center (EOC) when called upon.

At the start of the meeting, Lake City Emergency Management Director John Yorde wheeled a cart loaded with plastic bins out of a storage area.
