Mead draws eight of diamonds, claims spot on the ballot
John Mead outdrew Tom Dwelle as five members of the Lake City City Council, convened to canvass the Aug. 9 primary election, looked on.
Mead's name will appear alongside Phil Gartner, Cindy McGrath, Mary Lou Waltman, Mark Fayette and Mary Jane Rasmussen on the Nov. 8 ballot to elect three members of the Lake City City Council.
For Dwelle, the race is over.
Dwelle had a one-vote lead in the primary election vote tally and appeared to have won the sixth and final spot on the general election ballot.
