New home construction continues despite cost, COVID-19 headwinds

Homes continued to be built in Lake City at a rate comparable to the past few years, according to data from the Lake City Planning and Community Development Department.

After a recent peak of 22 new single-family housing units constructed in 2017, Lake City saw 12 new single-family units constructed in 2018 and 13 in 2019.

So far this year they are looking at 11 new homes, according to Lake City Planning and Community Development Director Megan Smith.
