New office offers ‘multiple pathways’ for people recovering from addiction

A new office has opened in Lake City to provide services to people recovering from addiction.

Rochester-based non-profit Recovery is Happening (RIH) received a grant from Wabasha County to open and staff the office at 1215 N. 7th St., Ste. 105.

Maria Courchene Sontag, who is running the office, said RIH is an RCO, or Recovery Community Organization.

As a peer support recovery specialist, she said her role is to help make sure people have what they need to stay in recovery.
