Old building gives way to boat lot
It wasn’t one of downtown Lake City’s most beautiful buildings, but it was one of the oldest, with a history that began miles upriver.
On Tuesday, May 26, the building at 128 North Washington Street that most recently housed Lake City Glass came down. In its place will be a parking lot for Marine Center.
The Lake City City Council approved a conditional use permit on March 9 to allow Marine Center to construct a parking lot to be used primarily to store boats before and after being serviced.
