Parents now must take part in driver training

A bill passed by the 2014 Legislature will require all driver education programs to offer a supplemental parental course to parents or guardians of teens who are completing a driver education program.  
The 90-minute program will cover Graduated Drivers Licensing (GDL) information, safety risks for teen drivers, potential adult influence on teen driving behavior, and additional resources.  A completion certificate will be given to parents who complete the parental course.
