Parties caucus as 2022 election season begins

Local Republican and Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) Party members joined partisans from around the state Feb. 1 holding local precinct caucuses.

Republicans from Lake City and several nearby townships caucused at Bluff View Elementary School. Local DFLers opted for a contactless caucus due to COVID-19.

At caucuses, attendees typically “choose volunteers who will organize political activities in the precinct,” they “discuss issues and ideas for the party to support,” and they “choose delegates who will endorse candidates at future conventions.”
