Planning department reports heavy permit activity in 2021

The Lake City Planning and Community Development department had “an exceptionally busy and successful year in 2021,” according to the introduction to its annual report that was part of the Lake City City Council’s March 14 agenda packet.

According to the department, Lake City issued the most building permits in its history, 474, and the most new home permits (24) since 2006.

The planning department also managed the construction at Ohuta Beach.
