Project hits milestone as Section 2 reopens

The third layer of bituminous paving went down Tuesday. On Wednesday temporary lines were to be painted and then, probably by early or mid-afternoon, several blocks of Highway 61 were expected to reopen in downtown Lake City.

It hadn’t happened yet as of this writing, but if it goes as planned, it will be the first major traffic change since the north end of the Highway 61 reconstruction project reopened earlier this summer.
