Rains bring flooding to area

Although not as severe as other areas, high water locally has caused road closures, boat ramp closures, and the postponement of at least one Water Ski Days activity.

On Tuesday the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) measured the Mississippi River level above the 13-foot Action Stage threshhold at 15.47 feet. It predicted river levels would keep rising, passing the 16-foot Minor Flood Stage mark on Thursday and levelling off at about 17.1 feet early next week.

Last year’s spring flooding crested just shy of 19 feet.
