Six filed for school board as deadline nears
On the morning of Tuesday, Aug. 13, with hours to go until the filing deadline, six candidates had filed to run for the four Lake City School Board seats on the Nov. 5 general election ballot.
Filers include incumbents Heath Oeltjen and Michelle Larson, as well as Cathleen Gates, Wayne Peters, Jacob Suckow, and Becky Laqua.
Incumbent Dawn Balow said she would not seek another term. Kevin Pavelka, the other incumbent, has not indicated to the Graphic whether he intends to file but had not filed as of the newspaper’s Tuesday print deadline.
