Track maintenance relies on a mix of technology, vigilance

For a number of months, drivers in our community have braced themselves when crossing the tracks of the Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railway particularly at Lyon Avenue. Rough pavement and uneven roadbeds turned everyday commutes into jarring experiences, rattling tires, shocks, cup holders—and nerves.

The problem stemmed from aging infrastructure beneath the crossings. Canadian Pacific patched the problem areas and have now begun major renovation projects encompassing several local crossings.
