Victim remains hospitalized, alleged shooter charged with attempted murder in Dec. 10 shooting

Police said a Lake City man remained in intensive care Tuesday, Dec. 16, almost a week after being wounded by gunfire on Wednesday, Dec. 10.

Police Capt. Bill Weist said the victim is Daniel Ray Jankowski, 60, of Lake City.

“His condition is largely the same,” Weist said. “He is still not out of the woods, with life threatening injures. We have information from his family that he is slowly improving, but he remains in the ICU.”
