Work to start soon on new public safety building

The Lake City Police Department and Ambulance Service could move into their new building as soon as next February or March, Police Chief Cory Kubista said.

He said contractors met Friday to work out scheduling details. The City Council awarded bids for the new building at its Aug. 15 meeting.

Reliable Contractors, Inc., coordinated the bids for the city and will serve as project manager. Bids for various parts of the project were awarded to 22 different contractors.
