Council Special Meeting is Sept. 27

The Lake City City Council will hold a special meeting today (Thursday) at 5 p.m. at City Hall.

Councilmembers will schedule a public hearing required by the state before the council can consent to the traffic changes in the Highway 61 reconstruction plan.

Also before the council on Thursday is whether to hire Matt Herzig as operations manager at the Lake City Marina. The city is backfilling the position after hiring the former operations manager, Jeff Brand, as marina administrator.

Letter: Highway will help city move forward

To the editor: Walking outside is the easiest no-cost method of active living and Lake City has one of the most beautiful lake shores to view doing this. However, because of the difficulty of crossing Highway 61 and no sidewalk on the west side, I rarely enjoy seeing the lake on my regular walks.
