Letter: Three-lane idea is scary, insane

To the editor:

Citizens of Lake City beware, there is a monster lurking around us. The monster is the idea of reducing our four-lane highway to a 1920s two-lane Model T road with a center turn lane at a cost to Lake City residents of about $2 million.

Yes, that’s $2 million. With about 2,500 households in Lake City, that’s about $800 per household added to your taxes. Keeping the four lanes, the State of Minnesota will pay almost all of the resurfacing, plus new curbs and gutters.
