Letter: Trump for mayor of Lake City?
My origins are small town—in Iowa county seat communities and, right out of college, in Lake City. After a 40-year absence from the Midwest, my wife Shari and I resumed our association with Lake City in 2004. It is a blessing at the top of our thank-you-Lord list.
As a product of small towns and my experience as a weekly newspaper editor for the first half-dozen years of my working career, I believe I know why some who live beside us quickly earn our trust and loyalty, others are regarded non-judgmentally as works in progress, and a few are written off.
