No more primary election letters
After this issue, the Graphic will not be publishing any letters about candidates in the primary election before it is held on Aug. 9.
This is to reduce the chances of a letter raising an issue for which there is no opportunity for the candidate to respond in print before the election.
An exception could be made at our discretion if a candidate (not someone writing on their behalf) who was the target of criticism in this week’s Graphic wanted to submit a brief rebuttal addressing only that criticism.
