Ohl: The Lonely Outhouse

When Halloween arrives, I can’t help but think of outhouses. Growing up on the farm I had personal experience with ours until the house was modernized. But on Halloween some kids didn’t want to use them for their original purpose. They wanted to tip them over. I don’t recall ever participating in the overthrow of privies for fear of the pit, its contents, and getting caught.
