Ohl: The Shepherd’s Sling

When I was but a lad attending Sunday School and church, I often heard the Bible story about David and Goliath (I Samuel 17) and my imagination created a home for it in my young brain. I especially could not understand the sling aspect. To me, a sling was for a broken arm or for putting loose hay in the barn. I had never seen a sling like David’s weapon, not even a picture.
