This column is being written on Monday morning and the Las Vegas shooting is dominating the news channels.
Long ago, the Old Curmudgeon was an area credit manager for Montgomery Ward. He had chosen Fresno, Calif. as his home base as it was located near the center of his territory which stretched from San Francisco to Santa Barbara to Las Vegas.
Wards had a catalog store in Las Vegas. It was the most distant from home. It meant a long drive into the night to get there. No matter how late the arrival there was always entertainment.
