A poem by Phil Roland
At the break of dawn
The sun rises over Lake Pepin
One can glimpse a sight like this
As they go on the River walk a steppin’
The lake still lay sleeping
As the clouds fluffed the sky
A breeze could not be felt
As I observed the beauty with a sigh
As the lake reflects its beauty
Even the flag hung very still
For daybreak would soon come
while the sun rose over the Wisconsin hills
Peace like a river
Flows through this heart of mine
