A syrupy story - What's it all about?
We have two large maple trees in our yard, and they were once again tapped for their raw sap. One tree looks forward to the annual event due to suffering from high sap pressure as evidenced by the bloated trunk and swollen limbs. The other tree is not thrilled about the process. You can see the grumpy stone face anchoring the bottom of the tree and the surly mug six feet up the trunk. However, he does refrain from dropping a branch or two on the tappers.
