After an offensive explosion, boys hang on to beat Winona

Lake City exploded for 54-first half points as the Tigers raced past Winona Senior High 83-65 on the second day of the Lewiston Auto Holiday Classic at Winona State last Saturday night.

Colter Hegge scored 10 early points, including a pair of three-point plays to spark a 17-6 run by Lake City as the Tigers took control early, leading 24-12 after eight minutes.

Gavyn Lorenson was sharp offensively in the opening half as he scored 10 points in just a 90-second span as the Tigers lead grew to 39-21 with 5:52 to play until halftime.
