Baseball Tigers edge Byron 5-4

The Lake City Tigers baseball team beat the Byron Bears 5-4 on May 15.
In the first inning, Byron got their offense started. The Bears scored one run when Ben Stienessen singled.
Lake City pulled away for good with three runs in the fifth inning.  Josh Matanich doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run, Riley Borgschatz singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, and Jake Wohlers singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
Zach Scharpen was credited with the victory for Lake City.  He surrendered four runs on 11 hits over seven innings, striking out three and walking one.
