Boys golf team wins Section 1AA, advances to state meet
The Lake City High School boys’ golf team out-shot the teams from Red Wing, Rochester Lourdes, and Byron to earn Section 1AA championship honors and a trip to the state golf tournament in Jordan at Ridges at Sand Creek Golf Club starting next Tuesday, June 13.
The Lake City boys shot a 635 to beat runner-up Red Wing who had a 640.
Going into day two Lake City had a two stroke lead over Lourdes. Two day totals for the Tigers were: Brennan Rothgarn 148, Parker Schurhammer 163, Levi Herbst 163, Thomas Huettl 164, Riley Fritz 175 and Carter Gnotke 186.
