Brian Sprout coaches East Ridge to second straight state baseball title
Lake City native Brian Sprout coached the East Ridge Raptors to a 3-2 win over Mounds View to capture the Raptors’ second straight Class AAAA title.
Sprout, who graduated from Lincoln High School in 1998, was an assistant coach at Mounds View from 2007-2009. He’s been the varsity coach at East Ridge since then.
“We have a great youth program that has close to 250 kids playing 9U-15U,” he said. “We won the state title in 2019 with a group of players who were not expected to be there.
